Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. ## Description The controls software designer is an experienced and disciplined position focused on all aspects of controls software design including PLC, HMI, and ancillary devices. The position is responsible for executing design with an approach that is efficient and complete. They will be responsible for verifying hardware design while creating the PLC/HMI programs. Once the systems have been built, they will support the commissioning team in correcting any software design errors or deficiencies. The controls software designer is expected to have continuous awareness of the effect their work has on all other disciplines in the engineering and build of the systems. The candidate should have some controls experience, knowledge of the industry and current technology, good communication skills and the ability to meet project requirements., Local travel to UTEC facilities and customer/supplier sites for meetings or support is rarely required.
