Nice to Have * B2B or industrial ecommerce background; knowledge of ML concepts (embeddings, vector search, reranking, RAG). * Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, LaunchDarkly, GCP, or product analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, BigQuery). ## Description We're building intelligent product search that understands intent, learns from behavior, and gets smarter over time. You'll partner with a Business Owner who sets the strategic direction-your job is to take that vision and execute: decomposing it into engineering-ready work, keeping the team unblocked, and ensuring every sprint delivers measurable outcomes. You'll work side-by-side with an ML Architect, Search Architect, and Senior Python Engineers. You don't need to write the models-but you need to understand them well enough to write sharp requirements and set a clear bar for 'done.' WHAT YOU'LL OWN Backlog & Execution * Internalize Business Owner priorities and translate them into a groomed, estimated, sprint-ready backlog. * Write clear user stories with acceptance criteria; decompose ML features into shippable increments with the Architects. * Run sprint ceremonies, maintain delivery cadence, and shield the team from scope creep. Discovery & Requirements * Lead discovery with Merchandising, Sales, and Customer Success to surface unmet search needs. * Partner with Architects to validate technical feasibility before committing to sprint scope. * Escalate prioritization conflicts to the Business Owner with clear options-not just problems. Experimentation & Measurement * Partner with the Business Owner to define success criteria and relevance KPIs for A/B experiments (CTR, zero-result rate, NDCG, conversion-from-search). * Coordinate instrumentation with engineering and surface experiment results to the Business Owner in clear, actionable terms. ## Related Videos - [Data Science in Retail](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/586-data-science-in-retail) - [30 powerful AWS hacks in just 30 minutes: Boost your developer productivity](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1624-30-powerful-aws-hacks-in-just-30-minutes-boost-your-developer-productivity) - [Add Location-based Searching to Site with ElasticSearch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/77-add-location-based-searching-to-site-with-elasticsearch) - [How we built an AI-powered code reviewer in 80 hours](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1511-how-we-built-an-ai-powered-code-reviewer-in-80-hours) - [Serverless Observability: where SLOs meet transforms](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/854-serverless-observability-where-slos-meet-transforms) - [Making Data Warehouses fast.
