Those decisions increasingly rely on continuous monitoring rather than traditional surveying alone. Our client, a global leader in measurement technologies and digital reality solutions, is helping organisations move beyond conventional survey methods towards intelligent, automated monitoring systems that deliver real-time insight, reduce risk and improve asset performance. We are looking for someone who already understands engineering monitoring-not simply surveying. If you've worked with monitoring systems, deformation surveys, structural movement, instrumentation or long-term infrastructure monitoring, we'd like to hear from you. This isn't a traditional Engineering Surveyor role. This is a technical advisory position. You'll become one of the company's Monitoring Subject Matter Experts, supporting customers and internal teams across the UK and Ireland. Rather than spending every day operating survey equipment on site, you'll use your technical expertise to help customers design, specify and implement monitoring solutions for complex infrastructure projects. You'll advise engineering teams, deliver demonstrations, support strategic sales opportunities and help customers understand how monitoring technologies improve safety, reduce operational risk and support better engineering decisions. Typical Monitoring Applications Your customers may be monitoring: * Rail infrastructure * Bridges and viaducts * Tunnels * High-rise buildings * Dams and reservoirs * Retaining walls * Airports * Major construction projects * Mining operations * Utilities * Historic structures * Landslides and embankments Monitoring Technologies We're particularly interested in candidates who have practical experience of one or more of the following: * Robotic Total Stations * GNSS Monitoring * Laser Scanning * Digital Levels * Tilt Monitoring * Crack Monitoring * Vibration Monitoring * Extensometers * Piezometers * InSAR * Automated Monitoring Systems * Structural Health Monitoring Experience with Leica Geosystems products, Leica GeoMoS or comparable monitoring platforms would be particularly valuable. The Opportunity This role would suit someone with 3-5 years experience delivering engineering monitoring projects and now wants to broaden their impact. Perhaps you've spent time installing monitoring systems, managing survey control, supporting major infrastructure projects or solving complex technical challenges. Now you're looking for a role where you can: * Influence major infrastructure projects * Help shape monitoring strategies * Design technical solutions * Support customers as a trusted advisor * Become recognised as a monitoring specialist * Work with market-leading technologies, * Understand customer monitoring and engineering challenges. * Design monitoring solutions for major infrastructure projects. * Advise customers on the most appropriate monitoring technologies and workflows. * Deliver technical demonstrations, workshops and presentations. * Support Account Managers during customer engagements. * Guide customers through implementation and long-term adoption. * Build trusted relationships across engineering, surveying and infrastructure teams. * Identify commercial opportunities within existing and prospective customers. * Maintain awareness of emerging monitoring technologies and industry developments. ## Related Videos - [APItoolkit: Using Merkle Trees and LLMs to Detect the UnDetectable in Software Monitoring](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1639-apitoolkit-using-merkle-trees-and-llms-to-detect-the-undetectable-in-software-monitoring) - [Better Together: Leveraging Your Observability Tools as a SIEM](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2118-better-together-leveraging-your-observability-tools-as-a-siem) - [Hands on with OpenTelemetry](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/841-hands-on-with-opentelemetry) - [Planet-Scale Dashboards](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1618-planet-scale-dashboards) - [Multiple Apps, Millions of Users: Scaling React Native in Production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100313-multiple-apps-millions-of-users-scaling-react-native-in-production) - [System Resilience: Surviving the Software Storm](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/874-system-resilience-surviving-the-software-storm) ## Related Articles - [Best Companies to work for in London: Top 25 Companies in 2023](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/187-best-companies-to-work-for-in-london-top-25-companies-in-2023) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [Software Engineer Salary London](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/252-software-engineer-salary-london) - [Data Engineer Salary UK](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/253-data-engineer-salary-uk) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated)
