* Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

## Description

Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Data Scientist to join our team! We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget.
This position will support advanced data analytics initiatives, designing scalable data solutions and enabling insight-driven decision-making efforts. The position is located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.
What will you be doing?
This position will be a key member of the data analytics and digital solutions team. Duties include:

 * Conceptualize and design high-impact data use cases by transforming unstructured data (e.g., web pages, PDFs, free-text) into actionable insights

 * Develop and maintain Python 3 scripts to extract and process data from sources such as Excel, CSV, JSON, Markdown, APIs, and internal documents

 * Utilizes Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) to execute/modify locally hosted large language models (LLMs) to generate summaries, classifications and data enrichments.
 * Perform prompt engineering by designing,testing, documenting, and versioning prompts to ensure consistent outputs

 * Build, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and configure on-premises data gateways for automated refreshes

 * Generate deliverables in PDF, Word, and HTML formats using open-source tools

 * Create comprehensive documentation for datasets, workflows, scripts, and dashboards

 * Develop robust data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation pipelines

 * Design and maintain scalable data models to support analytics and reporting requirements

 * Analyze and solve complex data-related challenges with a strong problem-solving approach

 * Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to AI strategy documentation

 * Perform other duties as assigned
