## About the Role

* Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
 * Strong knowledge of MariaDB and practical experience administering relational database management systems
 * Solid experience with SQL, database design, indexing, and query optimization
 * Experience with MariaDB backup and recovery solutions, replication technologies, and high availability concepts
 * Good understanding of database performance tuning and monitoring
 * Experience with automation tools such as Ansible is an advantage
 * Linux system administration knowledge is a plus
 * Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python is desirable
 * Familiarity with database security best practices and access management
 * Strong analytical skills, a structured and solution-oriented way of working, and a collaborative mindset
 * Excellent communication skills in English

What tasks can you expect with us?

 * Administration, maintenance, and optimization of our MariaDB database environment
 * Ensuring high availability, data integrity, security, and performance of MariaDB databases
 * Monitoring database health, analyzing performance bottlenecks, and implementing optimization measures
 * Designing, implementing, and maintaining backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
 * Planning and executing database upgrades, migrations, and version updates
 * Collaborating closely with application developers to optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and indexing strategies
 * Monitoring system performance, identifying issues proactively, and troubleshooting database-related incidents
 * Documenting database architectures, configurations, operational procedures, and best practices
 * Automating database deployment, configuration, patching, and maintenance using modern automation tools
 * Supporting capacity planning, scalability initiatives, and continuous improvement of the database platform
