This role is for someone who can move comfortably between engineering work and practical machine work: connecting to machines, reviewing documentation, troubleshooting controls or configuration details, improving processes, and working on the floor to build, modify, test, and troubleshoot equipment and fixtures. This is not a desk-only engineering role or a traditional maintenance position. It is a technical bridge between engineering, equipment, fixtures, documentation, controls support, production, vendors, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will help maintain and improve RAYN machines, fixtures, technical documentation, and internal engineering systems. Working closely with the RAYN Engineering Lead, this person will support production, new product launches, machine updates, fixture builds, vendor coordination, software backups, and engineering improvement projects., * Support RAYN machines locally and remotely, including troubleshooting, backups, documentation, controlled edits, feature additions, and configuration review. * Maintain machine software backups, control program records, parameter records, revision history, drawings, manuals, test results, inspection data, vendor information, and project notes. * Assist with controls, PLC, HMI, sensors, actuators, wiring review, machine configuration, automation troubleshooting, commissioning, installation, testing, and startup within training and authorization. * Document machine, controls, fixture, wiring, process, and troubleshooting changes clearly and consistently. * Design, build, modify, drill, tap, assemble, test, 3D print, and document fixtures, tooling, brackets, mechanisms, prototypes, nests, and machine components. * Coordinate fixture builds, machined parts, tooling, controls support, machine repair, and other technical work with outside vendors. * Prepare equipment, fixtures, tooling, machines, and documentation for production, internal use, customer support, shipment, or installation. * Support production by troubleshooting equipment issues, fixture issues, process * Support internal engineering systems that manage technical documentation, machine information, inventory records, software records, project status, and revision history. * Assist with practical automation and AI-assisted tools that improve documentation, troubleshooting, engineering workflow, production support, root-cause analysis, corrective action, cost reduction, and uptime. * Help Design and Graphic teams understand machine capability, fixture requirements, process limitations, and practical manufacturability.
