The Scientific Linux Researcher administers and maintains Linux-based laboratory computers, manages and analyzes research data, troubleshoots computing equipment, and applies high-performance computing resources to advance ongoing scientific projects., * Perform Linux administration and data analysis in support of the facility's research programs and projects. * Maintain and operate Linux-based laboratory computers, and perform the fundamental procedures required for research projects. * Optimize research using high-performance computing (HPC) resources and software solutions. Data management and record keeping * Conduct data storage and record keeping; maintain clear and accurate records of laboratory work and convert those records to electronic records as appropriate. * Perform data retrieval and entry using multiple IT systems. Equipment quality control and troubleshooting * Perform troubleshooting of Linux-based computer equipment; document the actions required to resolve the problem and initiate corrective action as needed. * Perform routine upkeep, maintenance, and quality control of laboratory computing equipment. Procurement support * Prepare purchase requests for new or replacement computer equipment. * Prepare purchase requests for execution through NIH procurement systems. Data analysis and experiments * Perform experiments and analyses as listed in the analysis plan. * Perform computational data analysis in support of research objectives.
