## About the Role

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute)
 * 5+ years of software engineering experience developing applications and APIs in cloud or containerized environments
 * Experience with containerized applications, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD pipeline integration
 * Proficiency in at least one primary programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js)
 * Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and secure coding practices

Preferred Qualifications

 * AWS Certified Developer - Associate or equivalent
 * Experience with VA, HHS, or comparable Federal IT programs

Education:

 * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (Required)

Experience:

 * Cloud-native software engineering: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

 * AWS Certified Developer - Associate (Preferred)
 * CompTIA Security+ (Preferred)

## Description

AdaptiveVets Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-native services for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

This role contributes to mission-critical VA healthcare platform capabilities in a containerized, DevSecOps-driven delivery environment., * Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud-native services in Kubernetes/EKS environments.

 * Implement secure coding practices and develop automated tests within CI/CD quality gate frameworks.
 * Support containerized application deployments, sprint deliverables, and production support activities.
 * Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
 * Coordinate with DevSecOps and platform teams on deployment processes and operational requirements.
 * Support root cause analysis and resolution for production issues, escalating to senior engineers as needed.
