The organization enables mission-critical IoT and M2M deployments-including grid sensors, smart meters, and remote monitoring systems-where traditional connectivity is not available. Data flows from edge devices through satellite ground stations, 5G networks, and terrestrial infrastructure into customer environments that rely on real-time operational visibility. This is a high-impact, hands-on architecture role responsible for both strategy and execution. You will design scalable Layer 2/3 and overlay networks, drive modernization efforts, and serve as a key technical partner to client network architects during integration and deployment. The environment is compact (~80-100 core devices) but highly critical, requiring strong ownership of reliability, security, and performance across non-traditional transport conditions including satellite, cellular, and fiber. Senior Network Architect - Service Provider Responsibilities * Design and support scalable Layer 2/3 and VXLAN/EVPN network architectures across satellite (LEO/GEO), 5G, and IoT environments * Engineer connectivity into/out of satellite ground stations and NOC environments * Lead client-facing integration design sessions and deliver production-ready solutions * Own edge routing strategy (BGP, OSPF, MPLS where applicable) * Configure and optimize Cisco, Ubiquiti, and MikroTik infrastructure in production environments * Serve as escalation point for complex network issues and lead root cause analysis * Drive network security, segmentation, and operational best practices * Monitor performance and lead optimization, upgrades, and expansion initiatives * Maintain network documentation (diagrams, IP plans, runbooks, standards) * Collaborate with internal teams and customers to support integrations and service delivery * Mentor engineers and help elevate overall technical capability ## Related Videos - [How Cisco embraced a DevOps culture within its network engineering team](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/99-how-cisco-embraced-a-devops-culture-within-its-network-engineering-team) - [Demystifying application networking in the cloud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/675-demystifying-application-networking-in-the-cloud) - [Transforming Education: A Journey from interactive Markdown to Remote-Labs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/941-transforming-education-a-journey-from-interactive-markdown-to-remote-labs) - [Creating a routing app with Google Maps API from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/831-creating-a-routing-app-with-google-maps-api-from-scratch) - [Embracing the Hybrid Cloud: Unlocking Success with Open Source Technologies](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/883-embracing-the-hybrid-cloud-unlocking-success-with-open-source-technologies) - [P2P networks in Blockchain](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/209-p2p-networks-in-blockchain) ## Related Articles - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies in Europe](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/162-highest-paying-tech-companies-in-europe) - [How Much Does a Software Engineer Make?
