While we value full-stack adaptability, your core passion and expertise lie in building rock-solid server-side logic and scalable APIs. If you already have many of the following attributes and are excited to learn the rest, we would love to hear from you: * Education: Degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related scientific/engineering discipline * Server-Side Expertise: Strong commercial experience developing backend applications using Java and/or JavaScript / TypeScript * API Design: Proven experience building secure, backward-compatible, and high-performance RESTful APIs for large-scale SaaS environments * Testing Excellence: Passionate about quality, with experience using automated backend testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mocha/Jest) * Mindset: A strong sense of ownership, an agile mindset, and excellent English communication skills * Experience working with RDF databases / graph databases and querying with SPARQL * A passion or academic interest in materials science, chemistry, biology, or scientific informatics software * Experience or familiarity with client-side development (Angular 21+, RxJS) to support full-stack collaboration when needed ## Description As a Software Engineer - Materials Management, you will be based in our Cambridge office, working as part of an agile team of experienced and dedicated software engineers contributing to the Materials Management service. As a cloud-only SaaS solution that provides management and identification of material and substance definitions, this service forms a strategically important role and underpins a great many of the workflows and capabilities supported by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The Materials Management service is part of a growing suite of cloud-based scientific software solutions that the BIOVIA brand (Scientific Software: Accelerate Your Scientific Innovation | BIOVIA - Dassault Systèmes) is developing, delivered by a talented group of software professionals located in Europe, United States and Asia.
