Essential: * Active UK eDV Clearance * Experience developing software using Python, TypeScript or similar programming languages * Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence, including modern LLMs and traditional Machine Learning techniques * Experience designing and delivering software solutions across the full development lifecycle * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work on technically complex challenges * Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams Nice to have (but not required) * Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or similar * Experience deploying AI workloads within AWS, Azure or GCP * Knowledge of MLOps, containerisation or Kubernetes * Experience working on National Security, Defence or Intelligence programmes * Familiarity with secure software development within highly classified environments ## Description We're hiring an AI Software Engineer to join a specialist technology team delivering cutting-edge AI solutions across the UK National Security community. This is an opportunity to work on highly classified programmes where Artificial Intelligence is being used to solve complex operational challenges. You'll develop innovative AI capabilities that directly support national security missions, working alongside highly skilled engineers, data scientists and security specialists. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll contribute throughout the full software lifecycle, from understanding mission requirements and designing technical solutions through to building, deploying and supporting AI-powered systems within secure environments. You'll be given the autonomy to take ownership of your work, solve technically challenging problems and help shape the future of AI across some of the UK's most critical programmes.
