Preferred Qualifications · Project or program management experience. · Former U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Limited Duty Officer. · Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. · Experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), or Type Commander (TYCOM). · Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Physical Requirements · Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time. · Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and similar resources. · Must be able to frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. · Must be able to exchange accurate information in professional communication settings. ## Description Support the SUPSHIP Newport News Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) Planning Team by providing SQL development, database administration, Microsoft Access application support, and data platform modernization support across legacy and current systems. What You'll Do In this role, you will provide structured query language (SQL), Microsoft Access, database administration, and application troubleshooting support to RCOH project teams. You will help maintain, enhance, secure, and modernize mission-critical data applications while coordinating with Government stakeholders and end users to ensure reliable functionality and interoperability across legacy and modern data platforms. · Maintain, enhance, develop, and troubleshoot issues or bugs in existing Microsoft Access applications and vintage Access "accdb" databases. · Maintain and administer SQL Server databases, including backups, performance tuning, table and query modifications, security, and user account management. · Design, develop, repair, and optimize SQL database-driven applications while supporting data integrity and cybersecurity requirements. · Work closely with Contracting Officers, Planning Managers, application users, and project stakeholders to confirm required functionality, evaluate software solutions, and develop new features. · Convert Access SQL statements into SQL Server syntax and support migration or modernization of legacy database functionality where needed. · Design graphical user interface (GUI) forms in Microsoft Access and debug code using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). · Improve security features of Access applications and assist SUPSHIP with Authority to Operate (ATO) support when necessary. · Incorporate software versioning practices and use software version control systems for existing and updated applications.
