Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # Postdoc in Computational Modelling of Energy Systems & Industry Transformation - **Company:** It:u - **Location:** Linz, Austria - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** €67,000.0 - **Contract:** Temporary contract - **Skills:** Computer Simulation, Computer Programming, Python (Programming Language), Git, Information Technology - **Published:** July 9, 2026 - **Apply:** https://career.it-u.at/account/login?job=95825 ## About the Role The postdoctoral researcher must have a completed PhD degree in a relevant discipline using computational methods (e.g., computer science, data science, applied mathematics, physics, economics, engineering, environmental/climate/energy science, or other relevant fields)., * Demonstrated long-term programming experience (knowledge of Python or R would be ideal) * Some experience with computational modelling/simulation or research software development, ideally in collaborative code development projects using Git * Excellent analytical skills, sharp thinking and interest in applied modelling * Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (level C1) * Demonstrated experience in publishing and presenting scientific work Preferred qualifications: * Experience with energy systems analysis (e.g., PyPSA), scenario modelling, material flow analysis or integrated assessment modelling) * Experience serving as a technical owner for a model, making architectural decisions and reviewing pull requests, * a 1-page summary of programming experience and types of computational methods, with a link to a personal GitHub account or similar * Cover letter (motivation, past experiences, research interests, and why you are a good match to our group).
