BASIC REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's or Associate degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent background and work experience will be considered. * Two or more years of experience in information technology with a focus on network security, systems administration, or incident response. * Active security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC) are highly preferred; current networking certifications (Network+ or CCNA) may be considered. * Technical knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and wireless network security. * Familiarity with student data privacy standards, Data Privacy Agreements (DPAs), and cloud security compliance (Google Workspace for Education); adherence to FERPA COPPA, and CIPA compliance. * Possess a valid Driver's License and personal transportation to support various district sites. EQUIPMENT USED * Standard office equipment, network test equipment, and specialized cybersecurity hardware, monitoring appliances, and software systems utilized by the district. WORK ENVIRONMENT * Ability to work in a variety of locations, travel throughout the District, and work non-traditional hours (including evenings and weekends) as needed to mitigate security emergencies. * While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, and reach. ## Description This position is responsible for safeguarding the district's digital infrastructure, protecting sensitive student and staff data, and ensuring a secure learning environment. The Districtwide Cybersecurity Specialist will monitor, analyze, and mitigate security threats, maintain cybersecurity tools, and promote districtwide security awareness.
