Decision Ownership * Make independent technical decisions within your feature area while collaborating with senior engineers and architects on broader trade-offs. * Proactively surface complex technical blockers and partner with others to resolve issues efficiently. ## Description As a Senior Software Engineer 2, you will help transform how schools work so every educator and student succeeds. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on delivery and team-facing technical leadership. You'll write and review code, drive architecture decisions within your team's scope, and serve as a primary technical partner to Product and Engineering leadership. You'll help build reliable, scalable, customer-centered technology that empowers school systems to operate more effectively while keeping people at the center of every decision. How you'll drive success Technical Delivery & Architecture * Design and implement complex, cross-cutting features end-to-end from scoping and architecture through production readiness and monitoring. * Translate high-level product and architectural requirements into clear, well-scoped engineering plans that deliver quality outcomes for your team. * Serve as a technical point of accountability for critical modules, features, or services, including production readiness and operational excellence. Product & Cross-Team Partnership * Partner closely with your Product Manager to co-define workflows, shape the technical roadmap, and bring a customer-first lens to every feature discussion. * Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and adjacent teams on shared components, observability, and deployment practices. * Represent your team's technical perspective in cross-team forums and flag dependencies early. Team Technical Leadership * Act as the day-to-day technical lead for a mixed onshore/offshore team by setting quality expectations, guiding design decisions, and unblocking engineers in motion. * Lead design reviews, code reviews, and refinement sessions with a focus on elevating the whole team's output, not just your own. * Mentor engineers at multiple levels while modeling engineering rigor, ownership, and craftsmanship.
