The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in classical engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, or Hardware Engineering) and demonstrate a deep understanding of engineering rigor and process. In addition, the candidate should have significant experience with system design of software-based products, including user experience (UX) design, and knowledge of software design practices. Knowledge of real-time communication system design, secure IP networking, and Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) is highly desirable., * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. * Proven experience in systems engineering with a strong understanding of engineering rigor and process. * Demonstrated knowledge of software and UX design principles. * Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and integrating hardware and software components. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to discuss technical topics in plain language with both technical and non-technical personnel., * Experience with Modular Open Systems Architecture standards such as the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA®) or similar open standards. * Active Secret Clearance, verifiable through the Defense Information Systems for Security (DISS) or the ability to obtain secret clearance through REDCOM sponsorship. * Knowledge of zero trust security models and commercial cryptography. * Hands-on experience with real-time communications system design and implementation. * Familiarity with secure communications protocols and standards. * Experience in defense, public safety, or other mission-critical environments. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS: * Hybrid work environment (work-at-home and in-office) * This position may require occasional extended work hours to meet project/customer goals and minimal travel (under 15%) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * The employee must be able to work on a computer workstation for extended periods of time requiring the ability to hear, have visual acuity, and have manual dexterity.
