## About the Role

* 3-7 years of PostgreSQL/MSSQL database administration experience.
 * Strong SQL skills.
 * Experience with database backup and recovery.
 * Experience tuning PostgreSQL for performance.
 * Understanding of indexing, query optimization, and database design.
 * Experience working in Linux environments.
 * Ability to troubleshoot production issues independently.
 * Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

 * PostgreSQL replication
 * PgAdmin
 * Linux system administration
 * Bash, PowerShell, or Python scripting
 * Git
 * Docker or Kubernetes
 * Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
 * High-availability database environments

## Description

As our software continues to grow, we're looking for a PostgreSQL Database Administrator to help maintain, optimize, and support the databases behind our business-critical applications.

This is a hands-on technical position working closely with our software development team to ensure our databases remain secure, reliable, and high performing.

Responsibilities

 * Administer and maintain PostgreSQL and MSSQL databases in development, test, and production environments.
 * Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
 * Optimize SQL queries and database performance.
 * Create and maintain indexes, backups, and recovery procedures.
 * Assist with database upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
 * Troubleshoot database performance and connectivity issues.
 * Work closely with software developers on database design and application performance.
 * Monitor database security and user permissions.
 * Develop and maintain database documentation.
 * Participate in on-call support as needed.
