Backend Development (one or both stacks) * Python & Node.js: Django, Flask, or FastAPI; API integration; data processing; scripting; and backend architecture. * Laravel & Node.js: Eloquent ORM, Laravel Service Container, Express.js, RESTful APIs, and performance optimisation. JavaScript / Node.js Depth * Strong, hands-on expertise in Node.js and at least one modern JS framework (Express.js, NestJS, etc.), with a track record of building and scaling production backend services. Databases * Experience with MySQL (required); PostgreSQL and MongoDB are a plus. Tools & Practices * Version Control: Proficiency in Git and Bitbucket. * API Development & Integration: Strong understanding of designing and implementing scalable, secure APIs. * Application Performance: Knowledge of caching strategies, load balancing, and monitoring tools. * AI-Assisted / "vibe coding" Tools: Comfortable using AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) for rapid prototyping, boilerplate generation, debugging, and code review, with the judgment to know when to rely on them and when not to. * Communication & Leadership: Ability to mentor team members and communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders and clients. * Adaptability: Willingness to learn and work with emerging tools, frameworks, and AI-driven workflows.
