## Description

The Plant Technician I performs entry-level installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications plant and customer services under supervision. This role supports reliable voice and data services through fiber or fixed-wireless installation, troubleshooting, and plant maintenance while following safety standards and developing technical skills through training and hands-on experience.

Plant Installation, Maintenance & Safety

 * Install, service, and maintain voice and data services, including Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) or fixed-wireless.

Troubleshooting & Field Support

 * Assist with troubleshooting broadband network and customer service issues under the guidance of supervisors or senior technicians.
 * Identify potential plant issues and report findings to supervisors.
 * Support repairs, upgrades, and maintenance activities as assigned.

Equipment, Vehicles & Documentation

 * Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and job-related devices.
 * Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
 * Accurately complete work orders, service records, and required documentation on a daily basis.

Customer Service, On-Call & Development

 * Interact professionally and courteously with customers during installations, repairs, and service calls.
 * Protect confidential customer and organizational information.
 * Participate in on-call rotations, flexible scheduling, and overtime as required.
 * Assist with facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and other plant-related duties as assigned.
 * Install, replace, and maintain: Fiber: cable, fiber, Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), power supplies, and related plant equipment.
 * Assist with locating, repairing, replacing, and maintaining telecommunications plant facilities and infrastructure.
 * Follow all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures while performing field work.
 * Operate tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
