## Description

The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The New York City Police Department strives to foster a safe and fair city through the strategic deployment of resources, focusing on both crime prevention and addressing quality-of-life concerns while building lasting community relationships., The Deputy Commissioner, Public Information is seeking a Deputy Director of Digital whose responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to, the following:

 - Direct the development and execution of creative, sophisticated and high-impact digital communications strategies and efforts that advance the Department's goals and visibility

 - Oversee online and social media marketing strategies for diverse audiences, highlighting online content that focuses on the NYPD's work for posting to all websites and social media

 - Create and post content for NYPD's social media presence on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn

 - Develop strategies to use multimedia content, social media, SMS, website, and other digital media tactics to reach and engage a greater number of New York City residents

 - Incorporate digital media into all communications efforts to maximize the effectiveness and reach of key messages

 - Develop a digital first strategy and culture for breaking news

 - Establish aggressive short- and long-term digital goals, and work with the broader team to execute them

 - Work with the Deputy Commissioner and executive staff on overall communications planning and implementation, including message development, strategic guidance, and coordination
