This individual will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for VMware architecture, engineering, operational excellence, capacity planning, resiliency, and disaster recovery across production and disaster recovery environments. The ideal candidate combines strategic architecture experience with deep hands-on engineering expertise and is comfortable operating large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure in a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities VMware Architecture & Engineering * Architect, deploy, administer, and optimize VMware vSphere 8.x environments. * Design and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platforms. * Lead VMware lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning. * Develop standards, best practices, and operational procedures for virtualization platforms. * Drive platform modernization initiatives and future-state architecture. VMware Operations * Administer ESXi, vCenter, DRS, HA, vMotion, clusters, and virtual infrastructure services. * Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity utilizing VMware Aria Operations. * Troubleshoot complex issues spanning virtualization, compute, storage, networking, and operating systems. * Provide Tier III escalation support for production incidents. Infrastructure & Data Center Services * Support Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Group Policy. * Partner with networking teams on VLANs, routing, switching, network security, and load balancing. * Manage storage environments including NetApp, Dell PowerScale, SAN/NAS technologies, NFS, and iSCSI. Disaster Recovery & Resiliency * Design and maintain disaster recovery solutions utilizing Zerto and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM). * Execute DR testing and recovery exercises. * Support business continuity initiatives and high-availability (Never Down) architectures. Hardware Platforms * Support and maintain HPE servers, NetApp, HPE and Dell storage. Required Qualifications * 12+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience. * 8+ years of hands-on VMware engineering and administration experience. * Expert-level experience with VMware vSphere 8.x, ESXi, vCenter, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and VMware Aria Operations. * Strong experience with Windows Server administration, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Active Directory, NetApp storage, Dell PowerScale, Zerto, and SAN/NAS technologies. * Experience supporting large-scale production environments. * Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. * Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications * VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or VCDX preferred). * Experience with PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform automation. * Experience with NSX, vSAN, Azure, AWS, and regulated industries such as financial services.
