+ Proficiency in embedded C, microcontroller, and firmware development.

 + Experience with C RTOS, embedded systems, and DO-178 aerospace standards.

 + 7-8+ years of software engineering experience, managing engineering projects and teams in a regulated industry.

 + Strong testing and debugging skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

 + BS or MS in software engineering or a related degree.

 + Experience with aircraft systems such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RTCA DO-178/DO-254, MIL-STD-461 / MIL-STD-810 / DO-160.

 + Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

 + Knowledge of DOORS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 + Capability of handling multiple details simultaneously and easily moving between strategic and tactical work.

## Description

As a Software Engineer - Lead, you will spearhead the development, execution, and testing of customized software within a highly regulated environment. This role requires a profound technical understanding of embedded software, a thorough knowledge of the aerospace development process, and a passion for developing people and teams. You will lead a technical team of engineers in software development and testing, pioneering innovative solutions to solve unique customer challenges.

Responsibilities

 + Lead, train, and mentor a team of software development and test engineers to resource, plan, and execute engineering activities to meet customer requirements.

 + Develop embedded, micro-controller software/firmware for avionic systems using C and assembly.

 + Manage software development processes in accordance with DO-178B planning, requirements traceability, coding standards, and verification procedures.

 + Drive schedules, optimize development activities and resources, and remove obstacles.

 + Develop requirements from customer needs, occasionally with minimal technical definition.

 + Oversee software development and testing to ensure engineering solutions are of the highest quality and meet organizational goals.
