This role turns security data into actionable insight and measurable risk reduction - finding what's exposed, prioritizing what matters, and driving fixes to closure. You'll partner closely with cloud operations, SRE, DevOps, and engineering teams across a globally distributed organization, and communicate cloud security posture clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is a deeply hands-on technical role for an engineer who builds rather than just operates. You'll design controls, write automation, develop the dashboards and workflows that make security visible and repeatable, and apply modern AI tooling as a core part of how the work gets done. The right candidate combines strong cloud security fundamentals with the curiosity to keep pace with an evolving threat and technology landscape - and the judgment to know which risks actually matter. This position is onsite at our Irvine, CA headquarters. What You'll Do * Design, implement, and harden security controls across AWS, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure. * Identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, identity risks, and exposed services; prioritize by real-world impact and drive remediation to closure with infrastructure owners. * Develop dashboards, metrics, and reporting that communicate cloud security posture and remediation progress clearly to technical and executive audiences. * Apply automation and AI-assisted workflows to investigations, reporting, and day-to-day security operations. * Conduct secure architecture reviews for cloud services, infrastructure patterns, and deployment pipelines. * Maintain and improve security standards, runbooks, and guardrails; contribute to incident response and audit readiness. ## Related Videos - [From DevOps to Scaled DevOps: How We’re Rebuilding Continuous Delivery as a Platform](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100018-from-devops-to-scaled-devops-how-we-re-rebuilding-continuous-delivery-as-a-platform) - [5 steps for running a Kubernetes environment at scale](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/88-5-steps-for-running-a-kubernetes-environment-at-scale) - [Beyond Dashboards: Fixing Text-to-SQL with Semantic RAG](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2036-beyond-dashboards-fixing-text-to-sql-with-semantic-rag) - [You can’t hack what you can’t see](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/41-you-can-t-hack-what-you-can-t-see) - [#90DaysOfDevOps - The DevOps Learning Journey](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/548-90daysofdevops-the-devops-learning-journey) - [DevOps Maturity Check – a way to balance autonomy and alignment](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/58-devops-maturity-check-a-way-to-balance-autonomy-and-alignment) ## Related Articles - [What Are The Top Skills Required For Azure Developers?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/77-what-are-the-top-skills-required-for-azure-developers) - [7 Cloud Computing Trends Coming in 2025 for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/412-7-cloud-computing-trends-coming-in-2025-for-developers) - [Why Upskilling And Reskilling is Important For Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/428-why-upskilling-and-reskilling-is-important-for-developers) - [Events like RSAC Get You CISOs.
