This is a highly technical, customer-facing role focused on troubleshooting production application issues across the application, Linux operating system, and customer environment. The right person will be someone who enjoys investigation and problem-solving - someone who can look at logs, processes, system behavior, and network interactions to determine why an application is not working properly and identify the true source of the issue. This is not a traditional Linux administration role. The focus is not building servers or managing infrastructure - it is using Linux, diagnostic tools, and technical expertise to troubleshoot complex application issues in production environments. What You'll Do * Troubleshoot complex application issues within Linux-based telecommunications platforms * Investigate production problems by analyzing application logs, Linux processes, services, and system behavior * Determine whether issues are caused by software changes, customer environment changes, Linux configuration, network interactions, or system conflicts * Work directly with customer engineering teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues * Use Linux command-line tools and diagnostic utilities to isolate problems * Analyze SIP signaling, RTP traffic, and network interactions as they relate to application functionality * Capture and review packet traces using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump * Gather technical data, logs, and troubleshooting findings for engineering teams * Support software updates, patches, maintenance activities, and production changes * Create and maintain Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for technical activities ## Related Videos - [How I saved 200K/yr in direct costs writing 0 code lines in K8s](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1055-how-i-saved-200k-yr-in-direct-costs-writing-0-code-lines-in-k8s) - [WebAssembly: The Next Frontier of Cloud Computing](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/972-webassembly-the-next-frontier-of-cloud-computing) - [Docker network without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1418-docker-network-without-docker) - [Getting under the skin: The Social Engineering techniques](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/38-getting-under-the-skin-the-social-engineering-techniques) - [Generating code with Angular schematics](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/129-generating-code-with-angular-schematics) - [Docker exec without Docker](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1094-docker-exec-without-docker) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [The Most Popular IT Jobs on the Market](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/376-the-most-popular-it-jobs-on-the-market) - [Best Countries for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/267-best-countries-for-software-engineers)
