This candidate will design customized controls solutions for customers in the data center industry for both new design and upgrades to existing automation systems for power and cooling systems in a live, mission-critical environment. They will collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering / Design teams to ensure the reliability, proper operations, acceptance of new and modified installations, automations and software solutions. Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of experience in machine control / BMS/BAS/EPMS/DCIM/SCADA systems design, implementation, testing and operations., * BA / BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or relevant degree a Huge Plus * Licensed PE / EIT / Certifications a Plus * Engineering experience with industry standards with Automation and Controls Experience relevant to the data center industry * Experience integrating PLC / ALC with complex data center / mission critical facilities * 4-7+ years with BMS / BCM / BAS Systems / SCADA / DCIM - Building monitoring systems / building control systems / Building Automation Systems * Previous experience working on Controls Products from companies such as: Johnson Controls / JCI; Siemens; Automated Logic; Honeywell; GE Control Systems; Schneider Electric * Ability to read and audit one-lines / blueprints / CAD drawings and controls diagrams * PLC / ALC Programming Experience * Experience with Controls systems design as it relates to: Critical HVAC equipment (air-cooled / water cooled chillers, cooling distribution units, cooling towers, adiabatic coolers, Air Handlers, CRAC / CRAH units, liquid cooling systems, containment solutions, etc.) * Experience working with common BAS protocols BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, etc. * Skilled at reviewing design drawings, equipment submittals, and facility layouts * Client facing experience and at times serve as primary point of client contact on various projects * Ability to successfully work independently; Self Starter and should prioritize well * Effective communicator - both oral and written form (tech and non-tech) * Proactive, resourceful, delegator and a multitasker * Exceptional organizational skills with an attention to detail * Skilled in completing assignments accurately and in a timely manner * MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) * Superior analytical, planning and problem resolution skills * Must be able to provide necessary pro-active recommendations to clients * Knowledge of general computer hardware & software applications * Minimal travel ## Description * Execute automation design of complex scope, and coordinate activities of other personnel as needed * Meet with business to understand needs of the customer to design a customized solution to meet their needs * Equipment selection and write supporting reports * Create standards for ground up design as found in initial discovery process * Lead design for control panels: layout, control power, relay logic, and wiring diagrams * Create and review project specifications and sequence of operations of MEP equipment * Create Bill of materials (BOMs): instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves and other field devices * Mentor engineers and assist with training and development on software standards to create a learning and growing environment * Design and implement Front end SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) Platforms, DDC and PLC - controller based systems for various projects * Lead the design of BAS controls and EPMS * Develop and improve design configuration, programming, networking, systems architecture, diagnostic standards including IT / OT requirements and interface to match application needs * Review / Submit project deliverables per project requirements: AE design drawings, shop drawings, product data, o/m manuals (SOPs and MOPs), etc. * Lead development of UI / UX configuration standards * Develop proposals and timely completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables including project scope, schedule and budget * Effective time management of project design team including forecasting resources and resource coordination * Identify potential project scope changes;
