Required * Master's Degree in a related research/science field. Preferred * 3+ years of IACUC-related experience as an administrator Required or * 3+ years of experience in planning, developing, or implementing animal care and use programs/projects or research grants. Required * Experience working with research animals either as an administrator, researcher, investigator, laboratory manager or animal care/veterinary technician. * Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures and IACUC Policies. * Experience working with and maintaining electronic laboratory animal management systems, e.g. Cayuse. * Experience in Regulatory Compliance as it pertains to animal care and use. * Demonstrated knowledge of governmental regulations and policies pertaining to animal care and use in research and teaching. * Ability to exercise judgment in applying federal, AAALAC-I, and University regulations and standards to specific cases. * An employee's job performance must support and exhibit the university's core values of: * Respect for the Individual * Service to the Customer * Commitment to Personal Integrity * Pursuit of Excellence * PRIM&R certification at the Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA) level or intention to obtain one within one year of employment. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Research Program Administrator provides support to the IACUC and administration to all stages of sponsored research. As part of the research administrative team, this position will report jointly to the IACUC Chairperson and the Postgraduate and Research Lead Administrator. This position is responsible for implementation, management and reporting of RUSVM policies, guidelines and procedures in compliance with all international, US federal and local laws, regulations and policies in regards to the care and use of research and teaching animals. The Administrator must keep abreast of regulatory environment and requirements from international, federal and local agencies and analyse, develop, and recommend new or revised policies and procedures concerning animal use in research, testing and training.
