Technicians are responsible for conducting the following tasks: * Provide in-person customer service at the library service desk. Conduct circulation transactions for patrons and answer patron questions. Search for materials in the library catalog for patrons and direct patrons to reference librarians for research assistance. Process requests and materials for the Pickup&Go holds service. Answer incoming phone calls to the library service desk. * Shelve returned books and maintain book stacks. Move book carts. Lift and carry books. Search for missing books. * Process interlibrary loan materials and update records in specialized library software and systems. Scan pages from journals and books for electronic delivery. Ship materials to other libraries via Fed-Ex software. Open incoming packages and sort contents for processing. * Retrieve materials from local and remote locations.
