KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED: · Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, another Federal agency, or a regulated enterprise environment with formal compliance standards. · Experience with Appian or integration between low-code workflow platforms and cloud-native services, APIs, or event buses. · Advanced experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, CloudWatch, or comparable observability technologies. · Understanding of healthcare interoperability, appointment scheduling, case management, or other mission-critical workflow systems. · Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, or HashiCorp Terraform certification is preferred, but not required. CLEARANCE: · Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. ## Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical lead for a mission-focused, cloud-native, event-driven platform supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role partners with the Solution Architect and cross-functional delivery teams to implement a Kafka/MSK-based event bus, RPC-driven core services, resilient microservices, and real-time WebSocket user experiences.
