You have strong opinions on what works and why * Strong communicator - you can write a compelling internal guide just as easily as you can give a compelling demo * 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in platform, DevEx, or developer tooling roles * Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and developer platforms (GitHub Actions, Buildkite, ArgoCD, or similar) * Contributions to open-source developer tooling or AI/LLM tooling projects * Experience building or deploying agentic coding systems - multi-step agents that write, test, review, or deploy code autonomously * Background in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) * Familiarity with healthcare tech constraints - HIPAA, SOC 2, audit logging - and how to design AI tooling that respects them ## Description * We're looking for a DevEx AI Engineer who sits at the intersection of platform engineering and AI-powered developer tooling * This isn't just a platform role - it's a mission to fundamentally change how our engineering team builds software * You will be the driving force behind integrating AI coding tools, autonomous agents, and intelligent workflows into every layer of our development lifecycle * At Qventus, we believe that AI-augmented engineering isn't the future - it's now. We're all in * Our engineers use AI coding assistants daily, and we want someone who doesn't just support these tools, but evangelizes them, evolves them, and pushes the boundaries of what's possible with agentic development * You will be our internal champion for the AI coding revolution: running workshops, building internal tooling, and proving what a team operating at 10x velocity looks like * This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that will shape how Qventus engineers work, accelerate our product roadmap, and set the standard for AI-native software development in healthcare * Champion the adoption of AI coding tools - including Cursor, Claude Code, and emerging agentic frameworks - across the entire engineering organization * Run internal workshops, pairing sessions, and enablement programs to up-level engineers on prompt engineering, AI-assisted TDD, and autonomous code generation * Define and evolve AI-first development standards, integrating them into our engineering culture, onboarding, and day-to-day workflows * Design, build, and maintain the internal developer platform that enables teams to ship high-quality, secure software with speed and confidence * Own CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and self-service infrastructure that weaves AI assistance into every stage of the SDLC * Build intelligent automation for code review, test generation, documentation, and deployment - leveraging LLMs and agentic workflows to eliminate toil * Architect infrastructure for running AI coding agents in secure, sandboxed environments with the guardrails and observability our healthcare context demands * Establish and track DevEx metrics - DORA, cycle time, AI adoption rates - and drive continuous improvement against them * Act as a thought leader and internal advisor on AI coding trends, partnering across engineering, security, and product teams to keep our platform ahead of the curve ## Related Videos - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Innovating Developer Tools with AI: Insights from GitHub Next](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1268-innovating-developer-tools-with-ai-insights-from-github-next) - [Unleashing Potential Across Teams: The Power of Infrastructure as Code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/930-unleashing-potential-across-teams-the-power-of-infrastructure-as-code) - [AI Won't Fix Your Engineering Culture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100266-ai-won-t-fix-your-engineering-culture) - [Nest.js - TypeScript in the backend can also be clean](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1033-nest-js-typescript-in-the-backend-can-also-be-clean) - [Bringing AI Model Testing and Prompt Management to Your Codebase with GitHub Models](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1536-bringing-ai-model-testing-and-prompt-management-to-your-codebase-with-github-models) ## Related Articles - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [What is Agentic Programming and Why Should Developers Care?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/625-what-is-agentic-programming-and-why-should-developers-care) - [Why developer experience matters](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/514-why-developer-experience-matters) - [What is Software Engineering in the Age of AI?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/640-what-is-software-engineering-in-the-age-of-ai) - [Transforming Software Development: The Role of AI and Developer Tools](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/527-transforming-software-development-the-role-of-ai-and-developer-tools) - [Dev Digest 121 - AI goes offline](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/456-dev-digest-121-ai-goes-offline)
