You must satisfy the following requirements to continue employment: + Provide teamwork with others who share network management responsibility as well as assisting other teams and contractors who support Indiana State Government Technology. A degree is not required. However, at least 2 years of experience in computer technology, networking, or related field applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered. Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. ## Description This position is directly responsible for the maintenance and operations of critical infrastructure for INDOT's Traffic Management. INDOT's Traffic Management Division maintains a computer network for all of the highway message boards, cameras, roadway sensors, 2 dispatch centers, multiple public facing webpages, traffic/video feeds to all central Indiana TV stations as well as data feeds to multiple mapping and traffic providers (WAZE, Google Maps, etc). This network also maintains communication with INDOT's traffic signal systems. The network engineer position is responsible for the maintenance and operations of the switches, servers and overall operations of the computer network that keep this critical infrastructure functional., + Provide day two support for networking repairs, replacements and refreshes. Equipment repairs include supportive equipment such as UPS and PDU. + Position uses but not limited to tools such as Solar Winds Net Flow Traffic Analyzer, Orion, OPNET, Secure Shell, TFTP, etc. + Standardize (both hardware and software), optimize and stabilize the network and network environment which includes closet environment, power and cable management statewide. + Perform security management of network resources via authentication, authorization, accounting, and detection. + Provide ticket system updates, creation and closure and Tech Support case creation as needed. This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work.
