Preferred Certifications (Not Required): * ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I * ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician * ACI Aggregate Testing Technician - Level I * State-specific certifications for asphalt and concrete ## Description The Technical Services Specialist supports the Technical Services Manager in reviewing project specifications, developing mix designs, coordinating material testing, and ensuring product and procedural compliance with industry and customer requirements. This role acts as a vital link between quality control, sales, operations, and external agencies, ensuring the consistent performance of Ready-Mix Concrete, asphalt, and aggregate products. The position demands strong technical acumen, effective communication, and organizational skills. Essential Functions of the Position: MIX DESIGN & SPECIFICATION COMPLIANCE: * Analyze and interpret project specifications to ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, Caltrans, and other industry standards. * Develop custom mix designs for ready-mix concrete, asphalt, and aggregates based on performance criteria and customer needs. * Prepare submittal packages and coordinate with outside engineers for certification when required. * Collaborate with Technical Services Manager, Quality Control Manager, and field technicians to conduct trial batches and material evaluations. TESTING COORDINATION & DOCUMENTATION: * Determine and schedule necessary testing to validate mix performance and regulatory compliance. * Maintain and log material test results from internal and external labs for documentation and analysis. * Provide technical support to sales and operations teams through mix design recommendations and troubleshooting. * Address customer concerns regarding material performance, field testing, and compliance. * Serve as a point of contact for customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies for product application support., The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
