As part of this mission, Tesla is pursuing an ambitious goal to deploy 100 GW of annual solar cell and panel manufacturing capacity in the United States. As a Systems Architect, you will help define and lead Tesla's strategy to meet those goals by leveraging physics fundamentals, systems optimization thinking and simulation tools. This role involves collaboration with designers, engineering, manufacturing, sales and finance and requires the ability to distill highly technical information and effectively communicate with other teams and management. Our team is small, committed, fast moving and we believe a diverse team of motivated individuals can accomplish almost anything. We are problem solvers, team players and gamechangers. If this sounds like you, Tesla just might be the place to make your mark. What You'll Do * Lead system architecture and product optimization for solar products all the way from site to cell, leveraging first-principles physics models to derive design sensitivities and constraints * Owns development of system requirements, distributes function and performance to components within systems, defines system hardware and software architecture, defines electrical, mechanical, and communication interfaces for components to meet those goals * Collaborate directly with design, integration, compliance, reliability, product, and service teams for system architecture and design development * Defines electrical, mechanical, and communication interfaces for components * Captures requirements in a formal management tool * Leads and contribute to cross-functional design reviews for development efforts * Works directly with system test team for system test plan development and validation of system design requirements ## Related Videos - [Building a hypercar from scratch](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/607-building-a-hypercar-from-scratch) - [The QUEST for Better Software](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/721-the-quest-for-better-software) - [Leveraging Large Language Models for Legacy Code Translation: Challenges and Solutions](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1157-leveraging-large-language-models-for-legacy-code-translation-challenges-and-solutions) - [How To Test A Ball of Mud](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/173-how-to-test-a-ball-of-mud) - [Software stack under and over the hood of the fastest accelerating car in the world](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/221-software-stack-under-and-over-the-hood-of-the-fastest-accelerating-car-in-the-world) - [Car's are Technology on Wheels - Impact of Software and IT Competence in Automotive](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/780-car-s-are-technology-on-wheels-impact-of-software-and-it-competence-in-automotive) ## Related Articles - [How software is steering vehicle technology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/515-how-software-is-steering-vehicle-technology) - [A Guide to Green Tech and Green IT Careers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/374-a-guide-to-green-tech-and-green-it-careers) - [What is Software Engineering?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/289-what-is-software-engineering) - [Software Engineer Career: Things You Should Know](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/143-software-engineer-career-things-you-should-know) - [What Jobs Can You Get with a Software Engineering Degree?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/398-what-jobs-can-you-get-with-a-software-engineering-degree) - [The 12 Best Jobs for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/401-the-12-best-jobs-for-software-engineers)
