You figure things out, move fast, and do whatever it takes to make progress. You don't wait for perfect requirements or perfect conditions. * You thrive in ambiguity and chaos. You prefer clear goals and maximum freedom over hand-holding and process. * You are genuinely excited to work on hard problems that matter. Fixing broken parts of healthcare for the people who need it most is meaningful to you. * First-principles thinker with strong technical judgment. You make pragmatic architecture decisions and ship high-quality work quickly. * Low ego, high output. You want the intensity and ownership that only exists at the earliest stage of a company. If you need constant direction, clear roadmaps, or a well-defined role, this is not the right place. ## Description As the Founding Engineer, you are our first engineer and the technical leader. You will build the core platform from scratch, owning architecture, data systems, ingestion pipelines, the intelligence layer, and the initial agentic systems that turn a complete record of a senior's health and life into coordinated action. We operate through four layers: * Ingest & Store: Pull and structure data from across the healthcare system and combine it with real context on family, caretakers, medications, appointments, and daily life. The goal is one clean, reliable record instead of scattered fragments. * Intelligence: Use AI to continuously analyze the full picture, detect gaps and risks, and prioritize what actually matters. * Action: Build agents that execute real coordination work (scheduling, logistics, reconciliation, documentation) while keeping the human navigator in the loop with full visibility. * Compliance: Make sure every action is properly documented and auditable so the system can scale responsibly. Expect to make high-leverage technical decisions, ship fast, and own outcomes end-to-end with minimal process. This is a true 0-1 role. You will define how the platform works. ## Related Videos - [From Messy Queries to Scalable Systems - How Data Engineering actually works](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100203-from-messy-queries-to-scalable-systems-how-data-engineering-actually-works) - [When React Meets Reality: Building a Real-Time Control Room for Autonomous Vehicles](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/2091-when-react-meets-reality-building-a-real-time-control-room-for-autonomous-vehicles) - [Building the Next Generation of Software](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100186-building-the-next-generation-of-software) - [Edit Your Future: Queerverse Radical AI](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/909-edit-your-future-queerverse-radical-ai) - [The Data Mesh as the end of the Datalake as we know it](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/156-the-data-mesh-as-the-end-of-the-datalake-as-we-know-it) - [Build Delightful Mobile Experiences with Kotlin, Realm, and Atlas Device Sync](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/694-build-delightful-mobile-experiences-with-kotlin-realm-and-atlas-device-sync) ## Related Articles - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Never delegate the understanding](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/749-never-delegate-the-understanding) - [Navigating the AI Shift](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/629-navigating-the-ai-shift) - [Trustworthy AI Starts at Deployment: 5 Checks Before You Ship](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/753-trustworthy-ai-starts-at-deployment-5-checks-before-you-ship) - [Coffee with Developers - Maria Apazoglou - Making AI understandable for all in production](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/475-coffee-with-developers-maria-apazoglou-making-ai-understandable-for-all-in-production) - [Stephan Gillich - Bringing AI Everywhere](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/489-stephan-gillich-bringing-ai-everywhere)
