 * Experience designing systems that unify data from multiple or unstructured sources
 * Strong communication skills and comfort working independently and collaboratively
 * Nice to have: Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.), agentic AI agents, scaling data processing systems, or website scraping techniques

## Description

As a Software Engineer at Hamlet, you'll help build the core systems that power our product - from data ingestion pipelines to customer-facing features. You'll work across the stack, collaborate closely with a small, high-impact engineering team, and contribute directly to the evolution of our platform. You'll play a central role in unifying disparate government data into a shared model and making it available through APIs, reporting tools, and new product experiences.

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy solving complex data challenges, and want to help shape a product with real-world impact.

What You'll Do

 * Build Scrapers: Develop reliable scrapers to ingest data from local government sites without public APIs.
 * Develop Classifiers & Evals: Build classifiers and evaluation pipelines to identify governing bodies and meetings from continuous data streams.
 * Unify Data: Integrate data from diverse sources into a cohesive, structured model.
 * Design Customer-Facing Features: Build APIs, reporting tools, and product features that give customers seamless access to unified data.
