The successful applicant will join the Commercial Asset Management Team within City Development. A general understanding of land and property matters would be useful, but guidance, support and training will be provided to the successful applicant., This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa., * Have a qualification, experience, or willingness to learn about land, property and asset management, * To communicate effectively with a wide range of people including sensitive and complex information. * To prioritise own work to meet conflicting deadlines. * To produce and present routine reports and data. * To accurately enter/retrieve data information from information systems. * To demonstrate a responsible and co-operative attitude to working towards the achievement of the service's aims and objectives. Knowledge * Knowledge of general office procedures and practice. * Knowledge of relevant financial regulations to carry out financial transactions. Experience * Of dealing with more complex queries from a wide range of people. * Of using complex and specialist technical administrative systems including associated IT systems. * Of working in partnership with others to deliver work to set deadlines. * Of providing customer focussed services. * Of working in a team and using own initiative. * Of Microsoft applications. ## Description As a Support Assistant you will be responsible for providing technical property work on behalf of the council - this is wide ranging due to the council's large property portfolio. It may include the valuation, letting and disposal of property assets and require you to work with a range of both internal and external parties to ensure a successful delivery of the required outcomes. Leeds City Council is one of the largest employers in the region with over 14,000 employees. We seek to recruit and develop talented individuals who embody our council values and ambitions., As our next Support Assistant, you'll undertake property work on behalf of the Council that may include valuation of Council housing, the sale of garden land, Commercial Assets and other minor property assets, the granting of leases and licences (such as site compounds and grazing licences). It will also involve more general day to day property transactions with external organisations to include Statutory Providers, Telecommunications Operators and Commercial Council Tenants. The work will require site visits outside of the office setting so will involve travelling around the city to undertake inspections of land and property assets and will provide a good opportunity to work on the interesting and varied property portfolio owned by the Council., To provide an effective and efficient administration and technical support service as part of the Asset Management and Regeneration Service. Primary areas of work to include, the provision of specialist service support, the provision of specialist service information to partners and the public, the delivery of complex administration functions, to liaise with other services within the organisation and to support the role of the manager. Responsibilities * To provide a detailed, technical and administrative support service to a wide variety of teams within the Asset Management and Regeneration service. * Organise and operate administrative systems within the service. * Contribute to the planning, development and monitoring of support services. * Monitoring and evaluation of the systems and processes. * Develop good working relationships with outside agencies and stakeholders. * Liaise between managers and other administration staff. * Present a positive personal image, contributing to a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. * Provide an excellent customer service to colleagues, customers and visitors to the service. * Provide detailed analysis and evaluation of data and produce detailed reports/information as required. * Produce information and respond to complex enquiries * Manage complex administrative procedures. * Be responsible for completion and submission of complex forms, returns etc., including those to outside agencies. * Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and the public on complex or technical issues. * Undertake research and obtain information to inform decisions. * The duties outlined are not meant as an exhaustive list and will also comprise any other duties within the spirit of the post commensurate with the job evaluation outcome for this post.
