Experience * At least three years of commercial experience in the role of Senior Software Engineer, with prior experience as a software engineer. Technical Expertise * Vue.js (advantageous) * Node.js (advantageous) * Github or similar version control * Good Linux command line skills * Amazon Web Services products such as EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Route53 (advantageous) ## Description The Senior Developer required should have a core strength in Oracle RDS to support the existing Oracle database. The Senior Developer focuses on translating designs, User Stories and non-functional requirements into maintainable and performant software solutions, providing technical guidance to the team, ensuring high-quality code, and supporting business operations. Primary Responsibilities * Develop high-quality code with good test coverage. * Actively participate in estimation and technical design discussions. * Review code produced by others. * Provide support to business operations. * Keep abreast of software technology change. General Responsibilities * Build and maintain positive on-going cooperative relationships with internal stakeholders. * Undertake professional development and research to maintain currency in software development. * Demonstrate commitment to teamwork and a collaborative work environment. * Communicate effectively, ensuring that emails are acknowledged within one business day. * Undertake duties normally associated with the role. System Knowledge * Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the system. * Communicate and support operation and engineering team members on the underlying system. * Have deep knowledge of at least Oracle 19C. * Have high level of understanding in Oracle statement tuning. * Have deep knowledge of Oracle objects and items such as tables, indexes and all types, normal views and materialized views, sequences, packages, triggers, pipeline functions, DDL and DML. * Have high level of knowledge in PL/SQL, including arrays, functions, procedures, pragmas, bulk processing and cursors. * Have a sound understanding of working with Oracle in an AWS environment.
