Pragmatically speaking, we help employers reimburse employees for individual insurance instead of offering a traditional one-size-fits-all group plan. We believe this model can empower employees (when they have the right support) to be savvy healthcare consumers and have a transformative impact on the entire healthcare system., We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who can independently build meaningful product and platform capabilities across Take Command. You'll be assigned to one of our product squads based on company needs, your experience, and your interests. Our squads work across areas like insurance shopping, benefits administration, money movement, reimbursement workflows, operational tools, and the platform services behind them. This is a backend-leaning full-stack role. Technologies used include Java, Postgres, AWS, React, and TypeScript. Our backend is primarily Java today, and we value engineers who can help us evolve the stack thoughtfully over time. As a senior individual contributor, you'll be expected to own meaningful work end to end, make strong technical decisions, and contribute to product and technical direction within your team. What You'll Do * Design, build, and maintain product and platform capabilities within your squad, including services, APIs, data models, and integrations * Write technical designs and contribute to design discussions for meaningful product and platform changes * Build frontend experiences in partnership with product and design * Work with product managers, designers, and engineers to turn ambiguous problems into practical solutions * Improve existing systems as you work, including code, tests, documentation, and operational patterns ## Related Videos - [Meet Your New BFF: Backend to Frontend without the Duct Tape](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/682-meet-your-new-bff-backend-to-frontend-without-the-duct-tape) - [Build and Deploy a Fullstack App with Open Source Tooling](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/775-build-and-deploy-a-fullstack-app-with-open-source-tooling) - [Optimizing Discovery: PostgreSQL's Role in Transforming GetYourGuide's Search](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1647-optimizing-discovery-postgresql-s-role-in-transforming-getyourguide-s-search) - [Watch Tests Go Brrrr! : Getting Started with Cypress in ReactJS](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/282-watch-tests-go-brrrr-getting-started-with-cypress-in-reactjs) - [Developing the Backend with Stefan Lingler, CTO at Shpock](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100360-developing-the-backend-with-stefan-lingler-cto-at-shpock) - [Building the Right Product and Building It Right: A Glimpse into Extreme Programming, Atomic Design ](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/398-building-the-right-product-and-building-it-right-a-glimpse-into-extreme-programming-atomic-design) ## Related Articles - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [How We Built a Worry-Free System That Runs for 10+ Years – And What We’d Do Again](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/751-how-we-built-a-worry-free-system-that-runs-for-10-years-and-what-we-d-do-again) - [Is Software Engineering Over-Saturated?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/418-is-software-engineering-over-saturated) - [Highest Paying Tech Companies for Developers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/220-highest-paying-tech-companies-for-developers) - [The Best Software Developer Blogs to Read](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/156-the-best-software-developer-blogs-to-read) - [Best Countries for Software Engineers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/267-best-countries-for-software-engineers)
