Agent guide: [/agents.md](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/agents.md). --- # BESS Engineer II (Remote) - **Company:** SOLV Energy, LLC - **Location:** Montgomery, AL, United States (Remote available) - **Experience:** Experienced - **Salary:** $90,000.0 - $112,506.0 - **Contract:** Permanent contract - **Skills:** Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Communications Protocols, Document Management Systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, Software Engineering, Building Management System (BMS), Bluebeam - **Published:** July 17, 2026 - **Apply:** https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=a357990eb967dfa6 ## About the Role * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. * 2+ years of electrical engineering experience with focus on BESS, renewables, or power systems. * Knowledge of design, integration, and optimization of battery energy storage systems; including lithium-ion batteries, inverters, BMS (Battery Management Systems), and grid interconnection equipment. * Knowledge of BESS control strategies, algorithms, and optimization software. * Experience with power system analysis (PSS/E, PSCAD, etc.) and simulation tools. * Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, IBC, ASCE, NESC, NFPA, utility standards). * Understanding of fire protection requirements (UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA855). * Understanding of communication protocols used in SCADA and Energy Management Systems (IEC 61850). * Project management experience including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. * Clear understanding of EPC engineering workflows, including design deliverables, submittals, document control, and coordination with engineering partners * Experience supporting solar, BESS, power, or civil/site projects, including exposure to pre-construction and execution phases * Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and resources. * Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to dynamic project requirements, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, with ability to maintain trackers, logs, schedules, and reports * Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future. ## Description The BESS Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of BESS projects. The BESS Engineer II should have a solid understanding of power systems, BESS equipment, and relevant industry standards.
