## Description

This on-site position is located in Georgetown, Delaware. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a Certifier who will be responsible for the accurate and efficient completion of the intake process for Heating and Crisis Services of the Low-Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

The schedule for this part-time position may vary Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, up to 28 hours per week, and may require occasional availability outside of regular business hours, as needed.

Essential Functions:

 * Work with clients to explain the program services and application process, answer questions and provide clarification to determine the full needs of clients.
 * Determine all sources of income, total number in the household, and calculate gross household income following regulations.
 * Collect and verify all required documents based on program guidelines and verify with other sources to determine program eligibility.
 * Ensure completeness of applications and determine preliminary eligibility of client.
 * Address clients' complaints/concerns and, if necessary, provide explanation of reasons a client is not eligible for services.
 * Document all activity in LIHEAP database system.
 * Contact vendors to determine crisis need, fuel type, validity of vendor choice, etc.
 * Create and maintain case records including case follow-up.
