The candidate in this position will provide architectural guidance, oversight and mentoring to the developers to support critical functionality needed for the systems. myBenefits is a health and human services portal for public users to prescreen for potential program eligibility, apply for benefits, view and change case details. It is available statewide and has over 500 thousand users. myWorkspace is a worker portal for local district workers to process the incoming applications, recertifications, and changes received via myBenefits or on paper. --- Day-to-Day Tasks --- 1. - Work with the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) to set-up, install and configure all core software needed to support the Virtual Managed Infrastructure for myBenefits/myWorkspace applications. 2. - Provide support for all Java applications across the entire OTDA infrastructure. 3. - Provide mentoring and oversight of architecture, maintenance, modification and development of myBenefits/myWorkspace application code changes as needed 4. - Provide day-to-day technical guidance and hands-on support to the development project team for activities related to the definition, design, construction, testing, performance tuning and certification of applications. 5. - Ensure that projects follow the NYS ITS architecture standards and best practices and conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance 6. - Provide technical guidance, training, direction and expertise in the design and implementation of applications and integrations. 7. - Identify technology reuse opportunities, participate in the contribution toward reusable object/component libraries 8. - Architect application models & technical designs ensuring consistent, robust & scalable designs 9. - Plan and coordinate infrastructure requirements and server capacity planning 10. - Work with technical leads on documentation and testing requirements 11. - Review unit, and component, and integrated test for standards, performance, and service functionality compliance. 12. - Conduct application performance monitoring, analysis of performance and performance tuning 13. - Participate and guide efforts in production troubleshooting and resolution as necessary 14. - Meet with management and report on scheduled work progress 15. - Plan and coordinate Tier 1 and Tier 2 servers upgrade. 16. - Migrate existing application code to deploy on to latest application server environment. 17. - Plan and coordinate Okta migration changes from Tier 1 to Tier 2. ## Related Videos - [Defeat that legacy monster!
