As determined by the company based upon business needs, an employee in this position may be required to perform duties and take responsibility for work other than as described in this document., * Strong, hands-on experience with SQL data management and database design, and preferably Snowflake data structures and best practices * Excellent problem solving and communication skills * Experience with data lakes and medallion data warehousing * Ability and desire to learn new software, techniques, and methods * Familiar with cloud service offerings such as AWS Data Engineer, AI Enablement - Preferred Qualifications: * Healthcare experience - pharmacy, managed care, health plans, hospitals, pharmaceutical * Experience with advanced analytics and AI and using AI/ML techniques and tools * Ability to perform some analysis work directly ## Description The Data Engineer, AI Enablement develops and maintains data pipelines and datasets that support analytical reporting and artificial intelligence solutions. Using a variety of data engineering methods, this role works with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to prepare datasets for analytics, artificial intelligence, agents, and modeling use cases. The Data Engineer, AI Enablement supports the construction and ongoing maintenance of data structures used for data-driven and AI-enabled analyses, while assessing and reporting on data quality and contributing to efficiency improvements by aligning data and AI systems with defined business and analytical goals. This position enables analysts, AI developers, and business stakeholders to access, consume, and operationalize valid and reliable data across internal and external use cases, including analytical applications, AI-enabled solutions, and AI agents. This position is eligible for remote work, but quarterly travel will be required to Avalon's corporate office located in Tampa, Florida.
