U.S. citizenship required; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, if necessary. Desired Skills * Experience in technical writing, preferably in a defense, maritime, or engineering-focused environment. * Familiarity with maritime systems or military systems. * Experience documenting military systems or government-contracted platforms (e.g., Navy, DoD). * Experience developing training materials from source technical content. * Ability to work within an Agile or fast-paced prototyping environment. * Familiarity with configuration/data management tools (e.g., PLM, Jira, DOORS) ## Description This entry-level role is ideal for a candidate eager to contribute in a dynamic, evolving environment, working closely with technicians and engineers to gather accurate and timely information for documentation purposes as directed by the Lead Technical Writer. * This position is not hands-on or tool-based but requires physical presence in workshop and shop floor settings. * Ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoy being immersed in the day-to-day activity of engineering and manufacturing teams. * A motivated and detail-oriented Data Collector/Technical Writer to support the development and maintenance of technical documentation for different platforms such as Small Unmanned Surface Vessels (sUSV) and their subsystems, including software, electronics and general support equipment. * The position involves working on the floor in shop environments, observing, recording, and organizing technical activities and processes as they occur. While not a hands-on mechanical or technical role, the position requires prolonged standing. * Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as standardized document formats and styles across the BlackSea family of platforms.
