## About the Role

* Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
 * Hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
 * Strong experience with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
 * Experience with AWS RDS databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle.
 * Experience with Amazon Redshift.
 * Experience migrating enterprise databases to AWS.
 * Experience deploying and supporting multi-region AWS environments.
 * Practical knowledge of AWS infrastructure, including compute, network, and storage.
 * Hands-on experience with AWS networking technologies including VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.

Preferred Qualifications

 * Experience with Databricks and MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas.
 * Experience with containerization technologies including AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
 * Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud database environments in highly regulated organizations.

## Description

Our client is seeking a hands-on Database Cloud Engineer to design, build, and support AWS cloud database infrastructure while assisting with the migration of enterprise Oracle and SQL databases from on-premises environments to AWS. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience who is passionate about cloud architecture, automation, and high-availability database platforms.
Must-Have Skills

 * Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
 * Python
 * AWS Architecture
 * AWS RDS (PostgreSQL, MySql and Oracle)
 * Amazon Redshift

Highly Preferred

 * Databricks
 * MongoDB / MongoDB Atlas

Preferred

 * Containerization technologies including AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker

Responsibilities

 * Design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud database solutions.
 * Assist with migrating Oracle and SQL databases from on-premises environments to AWS.
 * Deploy and maintain multi-region AWS database environments for high availability and disaster recovery.
 * Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and GitLab pipelines.
 * Write IaC to deploy custom applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tools in AWS.
 * Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance and reliability.
 * Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver cloud-based database solutions.
 * Support AWS networking components including VPCs, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
 * Participate in additional cloud infrastructure initiatives and technical projects as needed.
