Equivalent to those typically gained by: Training in computer science, information technology, or system administration - or a similar field or professional experience - that provided knowledge of systems, networking software, hardware, protocols, and scripting/automation tools. Special Note: "Competencies" means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. "Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. "Training" means the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. Pay depends on the location of the candidate selected. What You Will Be Doing: You'll help keep the State of Alaska's identity and directory services running smoothly. This includes managing Active Directory, Entra ID, Certificate Authorities, Single Sign-On, DNS and other identity-related systems that support thousands of users every day., * Active Directory & Entra ID administration Keep our identity systems healthy-managing performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting key services like Authentication, Group Policy, Federation, and Single Sign-on integrations. * Incident & Request Management Resolve and manage identity-related incidents and requests in the State's "AlaskaNow" ticketing system. * Monitoring & basic system health checks Review system logs, perform escalations, and help maintain service stability. * Advanced admin tasks with senior oversight Work on higher-level tasks that require elevated access, including upgrades, platform checks, and fault-tolerance improvements. * Network component checks & testing Help verify network-related services and ensure they're running reliably. * Stay up to date on technology Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices, applying new knowledge to enhance identity services and system reliability.
