This role sits at the intersection of product definition, build strategy, and facility architecture, ensuring that buildings, cranes, transport routes, and production flow are optimized for throughput, repeatability, and scalability. This role exists to ensure that facility design is driven by production logic rather than forcing build strategy to adapt to fixed infrastructure., * Define block-based build strategies explicitly compatible with facility geometry and crane systems * Establish block size, weight, and envelope targets that optimize throughput and flow * Translate vessel class, annual build rate, and steel tonnage into facility capacity requirements * Define pre-outfitting rules that maximize upstream labor and minimize shipboard work * Identify and eliminate facility-driven throughput bottlenecks early in design * Ensure material flow supports parallel workstreams and predictable sequencing * Integrate build strategy across facilities, heavy lift, manufacturing engineering, and design teams ## Related Videos - [TresJS a new declarative ThreeJS as Vue components](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/543-tresjs-a-new-declarative-threejs-as-vue-components) - [The user in the eye of the Cargo1492 storm](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/96-the-user-in-the-eye-of-the-cargo1492-storm) - [Cross platform Augmented Reality development with React Native](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/160-cross-platform-augmented-reality-development-with-react-native) - [Shaping Up: Rethinking Product Development with Basecamp's Shape Up Methodology](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1588-shaping-up-rethinking-product-development-with-basecamp-s-shape-up-methodology) - [Move fast with Software Architecture](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/206-move-fast-with-software-architecture) - [Debugging Machine Learning Code](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/71-debugging-machine-learning-code) ## Related Articles - [Dev Digest 120 - Apple and peers](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/455-dev-digest-120-apple-and-peers) - [How Engineering Hubs Build Visibility at Developer Conferences like WeAreDevelopers World Congress](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/720-how-engineering-hubs-build-visibility-at-developer-conferences-like-wearedevelopers-world-congress) - [Now is the time for industrialized software development](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/601-now-is-the-time-for-industrialized-software-development) - [Where To Find Software Engineering Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/396-where-to-find-software-engineering-jobs) - [Fully Remote Software Engineer Jobs](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/447-fully-remote-software-engineer-jobs) - [Dev Digest 132 - Binging WADFlix?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/473-dev-digest-132-binging-wadflix)
