## About the Role

* Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
 * Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
 * Test execution experience in software environments, and documentation of test results Experience with test tracking software tools.

Qualifications We Prefer:

 * Experience and knowledge of software development in C.
 * Experience working with embedded systems.
 * Experience with Atlassian toolset (i.e. Jira and Confluence).
 * Experience in QA or configuration management.

## Description

For over 70 years, scientists and engineers in disciplines at RTX BBN Technologies have collaborated to solve real-world problems through research, exploration, development and prototyping. We are seeking Test Engineer to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located a stone's throw from seaside Newport, Rhode Island. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to execution of test plans for Linux & VxWorks software development efforts, hardware & software integration efforts, and test planning and development.

The ideal candidate enjoys in a multi-disciplinary role and is comfortable adapting to and identifying new technologies as needed.

What you Will Do:

 * Develop test plans, test procedures, and test tools for multiple programs.
 * Perform testing of both HW and SW systems, isolate failures, and propose solutions.
 * Interface with DoD clients executing formal sell-off test events and integration test periods.
 * Work closely with development teams when bugs are identified to track and resolve issues.
 * Requirements tracking and verification.
 * This position may require some amount of overnight travel.
