## About the Role

* 2+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping non-trivial systems to production (JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, or Java preferred).

 * Basic understanding of UI frameworks - layout, rendering, theming, or performance.

 * Passion for solving complex problems while keeping software fast, reliable, and maintainable - you dig into unfamiliar systems and keep asking why until you hit the root cause.

 * Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with comfort giving and taking direct feedback.

 * Nice to have:
 * Experimenting with AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code).

## Description

* Compose scalable, high-performance APIs and GraphQL queries in our Java and Node.js web services, addressing challenges around performance, scalability, consistency, and data durability.

 * Partner closely with Product, Design, and Platform teams to ship high-quality, well-aligned experiences in our reusable web components.

 * Work with front-end and back-end engineers to define and refine API contracts.

 * Use modern practices and AI-assisted tooling to keep iteration tight and quality high. Own parts of the system end-to-end, from design through production.

 * Help shape the team's technical direction through design reviews, prototypes, and candid debate.
