For information regarding pre-screening and driving positions, The minimum qualifications listed above, plus: * Three or more years of professional technical writing, editing, or documentation experience within enterprise environments. * Two or more years of experience supporting information security, information technology, governance, risk, and/or compliance programs. * Experience with/in: + Documentation lifecycle management, including version control, formatting standards, and style consistency. + Developing, maintaining, or revising information technology and information security policies, standards, procedures, and operational documentation. + Supporting enterprise governance, compliance, audit, risk management, or information security initiatives. + Microsoft SharePoint, including document management, collaboration, and content publishing capabilities. + Proving support to large enterprise, municipal, government, or highly regulated environments. * Security+, CISSP, or other nationally recognized information security certifications are preferred. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field are preferred. ## Description The ITS Department is seeking Information Security Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist (IT Service Specialist) to join the Cyber Strategy and Planning team within the Information Security Office Division. The Information Security Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist plays a key role in supporting the City of Phoenix Information Security program. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and revising information security policies, standards, procedures, technical documentation, reports, training materials, and communication assets across multiple digital channels to ensure information remains accurate, consistent, compliant, and aligned with organizational requirements. The Information Security Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist must be able to translate complex cybersecurity and technical concepts into clear, accessible, and user-friendly content for City staff and Phoenix residents as it supports both internal and external communications. This role works closely with management, engineers, technical staff, and subject matter experts to gather and interpret technical information related to security technologies, services, and operational processes. The IT Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist is responsible for researching industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security frameworks to inform the development of organizational policies and documentation. This role coordinates, tracks, and manages documentation deliverables to ensure timely completion of operational commitments. Additionally, this role will maintain documentation templates, style guides, and version control practices to uphold consistency, accuracy, and quality across all organizational materials. This role requires a candidate that demonstrates strong independent initiative, exceptional collaboration skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate operational questions, business impacts, and user needs within a large and diverse municipal environment. This position will report to the Cyber Strategy & Planning Manager. Telework Work Eligibility, Conditions, and Requirements: * This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule of up to five days per week after the first 90 days of employment, contingent upon performance, attendance, and approval from the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). * The role requires flexibility to attend in person meetings or trainings at a designated City work location as operational needs arise.
