## Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced to support the modernization of a mission-critical government information system. This role focuses on Oracle 19c database administration, supporting both on-premises infrastructure and AWS RDS environments. The Database Engineer will be responsible for database design, performance optimization, security, backup/recovery, migrations, and integrations with enterprise applications. This is a , and candidates must be able to work on-site in either

 * Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle 19c databases across on-premises infrastructure and AWS RDS environments, including database creation, schema design, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, monitoring, and production support.
 * Design and implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and Oracle security hardening strategies to ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with government security requirements.
 * Support enterprise application integrations by optimizing database interactions with Java applications, SAP Business Intelligence reporting frameworks, and Apache Solr indexing while assisting with database migrations from VMware/on-premises environments to AWS RDS.
 * Troubleshoot complex production database issues, implement compliance controls (FISMA, FedRAMP, or similar), maintain technical documentation, and collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to ensure reliable database operations.
