We are looking for a Group Product Manager to step in as the strategic owner of our Financial Systems domain. In this role, you will define the vision, roadmap, and core technical requirements for our end-to-end Contract-to-Ledger ecosystem, ensuring our billing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting platforms are architected for long-term scalability. You will serve as a high-leverage strategic partner to our finance and executive leadership teams, collaborating closely with business units to translate complex commercial strategies and accounting policies into elegant system logic. While working in partnership with dedicated enterprise engineering and configuration teams who execute the platform builds, you will maintain absolute ownership over the product backlog, functional data schemas, and software capabilities. Your mission is to eliminate manual operational workarounds by designing automated system validation gates, maximizing the native capabilities of our technology stack, and establishing an uncompromised enterprise data handshake that prepares our business for public-market readiness. This role reports to the VP, Product Platform., We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired in this role at Flock. The First 30 Days * Build trusted, consultative working relationships with senior stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, and Business Operations. * Establish a clear operating cadence for updates, decisions, and cross-functional roadmap alignment. * Complete a structured technical read-in of our end-to-end Contract-to-Ledger pipeline, mapping the key integrations between Salesforce and NetSuite. * Assess the current subscription lifecycle and billing schedules, identifying historical system bottlenecks and process friction points. * Formally take ownership of the financial systems product backlog, aligning with dedicated engineering and configuration teams on current sprint priorities. The First 60 Days * Transition your domain to a proactive product delivery model, establishing high-quality standards for how your team defines functional system specifications. * Convert first-month diagnostic findings into a clear, prioritized execution plan to resolve immediate high-friction billing or reporting bottlenecks. * Establish a robust cross-functional prioritization framework that ensures the product organization retains full ownership of sprint sequencing and scope trade-offs. * Partner with finance operations to design scalable systemic data gates inside our CRM to enforce transaction and booking compliance before they move downstream. * Lead requirements-first evaluations of our current technology stack against future subscription and platform tools to protect the business from unnecessary software bloat. 90 Days & Beyond * Publish and secure cross-functional executive alignment on a comprehensive 6-to-12-month Financial Systems roadmap prioritized by scale, stability, and compliance. * Deliver a meaningful automation milestone, deploying Phase 1 pre-close data validation gates to prevent transaction errors from hitting downstream ledger cycles. * Successfully integrate automated forecasting data pipelines to provide finance teams with real-time, system-driven actuals instead of manual reporting overrides. * Implement a standardized "Learn-to-Own" governance model for external technical consultants to ensure internal teams maintain long-term platform ownership. * Solidify platform change-control protocols across all core financial applications to embed the automated audit trails necessary for public market readiness (SOX compliance). ## Related Videos - [Stop Renaming Teams, Start Product Thinking: A PM's Guide to Platform-as-a-Product](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100342-stop-renaming-teams-start-product-thinking-a-pm-s-guide-to-platform-as-a-product) - [Engineering/Manager Pendulum: Generating compound interest on your career](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/100348-engineering-manager-pendulum-generating-compound-interest-on-your-career) - [CountrPT: Startup Product Presentation](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/videos/1161-countrpt-startup-product-presentation) ## Related Articles - [From developer to manager – what does it take to become an engineering manager?](https://www.wearedevelopers.com/magazine/42-from-developer-to-manager-what-does-it-take-to-become-an-engineering-manager) - [Should Tech Managers Be Developers First?
